Plasma Exosomes Derived From Patients With End-Stage Renal Disease and Renal Transplant Recipients Have Different Effects on Vascular Calcification

چکیده

End-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients usually develop extensive and progressive vascular calcification, lots of calcification inhibitors as well procalcifying factors are involved in the process. However, mechanisms ESRD still ill-defined. In present study, we found that plasma exosomes derived from (ESRD-Ex) promoted smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) significantly, while transplant recipients (RTR-Ex) could partially attenuate VSMCs calcification. Moreover, protein concentration ESRD-Ex was significantly higher than normal health control group (Nor-Ex) RTR-Ex, content both matrix gla (MGP) Fetuin-A, inhibitors, were prominently lower those Nor-Ex. The Annexin-A2, one promoters, RTR-Ex bone morphogenetic (BMP-2) receptor activator for nuclear factor-?B ligand (Rankl) had no significant difference among three groups. addition, Fetuin-A ESRD-Ex, although it Furthermore, levels MGP negatively Annexin-A2 positively correlated to coronary artery scores (CACS). These results indicated transplantation procalcification effect exosomes. decreased, but increased increase level rather MGP.

Vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease.

Vascular calcification is the most common type of extra-osseous calcification in end-stage renal disease (ESRD), manifesting as both medial and intimal calcification of large arteries. It is highly prevalent, often progressive and is associated with reduced arterial elasticity and increased mortality. Risk factors for calcification in ESRD include age, duration of dialysis, diabetes mellitus, m...

Bardet-Biedl Syndrome with End Stage Renal Disease

Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) is one of the rare autosomal recessive disorders that affect multiple organs of the body. The signs and symptoms of this condition vary among affected individuals, even among members of the same family. We present a case of BBS with features of hypogonadism and features such as marked central obesity, retinitis pigmentosa, polydactyly, renal abnormalities and mental ...

PREGNANCY IN RENAL TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS

ABSTRACT Background: Correction of the uremic state by a functioning allograft often restores fertility in women of reproductive age. The rate of fertility significantly differs between industrial countries, developing and middle east countries. On the other hand the results of pregnancy in Kidney Transplantation (KTP) patients are significantly better than hemodialysis patients, and pregnancy...

The relationship between Aldosterone level and various LV conditions in patients with End-stage renal disease

Background: Aldosterone has been assumed to be implicated in left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Preventing the progression of LVH in the early period of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) can increase patient survival. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the relationship between aldosterone level and LVH in ESRD patients who underwent hemodialysis at Fatemeh Zahra Hospital and Imam Khomeini Hosp...
